Fred van Beuningen

Managing Partner

Fred started his career with Royal Dutch Shell in marketing and trading. His international industry experience spans Europe and Asia in sectors ranging from oil & gas, chemicals to packaging and logistics. His executive experience is with companies like Shell, Linde, and Smurfit Kappa and his turnaround experience with family-owned logistics and transport companies. Most recently, he served as Corporate Director of Innovation at global chemicals company AkzoNobel and worked on integrating sustainability into the company’s strategy. Fred serves on the investment committee tee of the regional development company OostNL in the Netherlands and on the supervisory boards of the International Clean Tech Network and Holland Circular Hotspot. He participated in a strategic advisory board to the Dutch government on sustainable economic development and the hydrogen economy, and served on the Board of the sustainability network of the Young Presidents Organization – YPO. Fred acts as an expert reviewer for the EU innovation fund with an emphasis on carbon capture and utilization and hydrogen. Lastly, Fred has recently been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board for the Stanford High Impact Technology (HIT) Fund, further enhancing his expertise in driving innovation and technological advancement. Fred’s broad international network allows him to connect with technology institutes, venture and growth investors and entrepreneurs. He believes that business should be responsible and sustainable and has an important role to play in key transitions like energy, materials, and climate.
