Chrysalix has developed a unique innovation ecosystem to connect market-led opportunities from our corporate investors to early stage research from major academic institutions in North America, Europe and Asia. This began with an anchor partnership with TU Delft & RoboValley, the largest robotics cluster in Europe, and continues to grow with the addition of the University of Waterloo (UW) as a Cornerstone Partner in North America under a MOU.
In selecting a cornerstone partner, we looked for clusters that combine a vibrant ecosystem, world-class expertise and an established incubator/accelerator program. The Waterloo region is a major innovation hub that brings together these key elements. The University is home to leading researchers and pioneers in the fields of micro robotics, autonomous robotics, multi-agent networks, magnetic levitation, nonlinear control systems, artificial intelligence and human-robot interaction; has recently launched the UW Robohub – a unique and revolutionary state-of the art robotics test facility that will provide a vital catalyst for innovation, bridging the laboratory and the real world; and has established UW Velocity, a leading entrepreneurship program and the largest free start-up incubator in the world that provides the knowledge, tools, space and network for UW start-ups and entrepreneurs.
Over the remainder of the year, Chrysalix aims to secure additional cornerstone partnerships in the US and China to build a broader set of global deal flow, and to scale our team by leveraging local “boots on the ground” to build, incubate and accelerate early stage technologies into venture ready start-ups.
